The Ayushamn Bharat scheme introduced by Narendra Modi have different packages for treatment of certain diseases so that the insured amount is paid as the bill in a more systematic manner. So here we are going to have a look at the different packages set by the central government. Under this new scheme, registered hospitals will give secondary and tertiary treatment to individuals whose names are present in the beneficiary list.
Ayushman Bharat Yojana PMJAY Treatment Packages Rates
Over 1,300 packages and 20+ specialities would be provided under PMJAY. The rates set for certain diseases under this scheme has a very wide category. The cost of treatment for certain conditions as per National Health Protection Mission :
- Bypass Surgery: 1.10 Lakh.
- Valve Replacement: 1.20 Lakh.
- Arthroscopy surgery: 20,000 INR.
- Cervical surgery: 20,000 INR.
- Knee Surgery: 25,000 INR.
- Heart Stent: 40,000 INR.
- Uterus removal surgery(Hysterectomy Surgery): 50,000 INR.
- Hip replacement: 90,000 INR.
- Knee implant: 90,000 INR.
Unlike other health insurances from banks, this new insurance scheme does not have sort of limitations on income or age. People living in secluded areas are even compensated for their transport expenses as most of the registered private or government hospitals are located in the urban areas.
This centrally funded scheme has identified occupation category families residing in urban areas as 8.3 crores while 2.33 crore families have been identified in the rural areas. Now, as per the data collected by the SECC, this scheme will provide benefits to a total number of people exceeding 50 crores in numbers.
As per the lifespan is concerned, the Ayushman Bharat Yojana will first come in full effect from 2018 to 2022. The ministry has even approved a fund of Rs 1200 crores for this scheme. After these initial four years, based on the results of this first session, further steps will be taken.
